I do everything for them.
Well if I don't, who will? They're virtually helpless, they don't do much more than eat, sleep, make a mess, eat some more, sleep again, and keep me up nights.
Oh, I'm not talking about the animals, I'm talking about the people I live
(more) with.
Take two brothers, two sisters, two dogs, four cats, one small house and what do you get?
My mess of a life, that's what I get.
I never had kids but you might think otherwise if you walked through my life for a day.
I wear many hats in this zoo I call almost-home. Somehow, it's become my responsibility to make sure the house is clean (even though it's not my house), dinner is on the table each night (even though I don't eat- no, really, I very rarely eat actual food, I drink tea and graze),and see to it that there's always food put down for the (actual) animals.
Need something done? You know, banking, post office, food shopping, the usual day-to-day chores? Leave it for me, after all, I don't have an actual for-pay job.
Computer problems? Cable not working? Just give me a holler, if I don't know how to do it already I'll figure it out somehow and make sure it's fixed.
Need a house rebuilt? I'm your girl.
A lead singer for your band? That would be me.
Maybe you need a ride somewhere, or a prescription picked up? Me again.
No job equals all the time in the world, they assume, and I better smile while I'm at it.
I know that sometimes I just go through the motions but at least I keep on moving.
Come, walk with me for a moment... better yet, sit back, relax, and allow me... everyone else does.
